whatever happened to stereograms the picture ones? they were such a buzz thing a few years back. there are still sites around that have them but there seems to be few people making them anymore.
You could get programs that made them but not being an artist i didn't get many jaw dropping results just the odd text :)

Those "Magic Eye" ones? Perhaps someone realised that is doing psychological harm to those of us who can't see them :D

If you are into 3D there are a couple of recent 3D films to watch, Spy Kids 3D and Shrek 3D.

The MOMI at Bradford has the biggest Imax screen in Europe I believe. That has the cool polarised glasses 3D films, no colour filters and almost perfect 3D effect.

Or you could even just buy one of those TFT screens that produces 3D images. Vey cool.

didn't realise you could get those TFT's? i'd love to see how good they are.

Me too. I have read they are quite convincing, but never seen one myself.

A mate of mine, his dad owns a company that specialises in 3D imaging systems. One product they make is as near to a Star Trek holodeck as you can get with the current technology. You stand inside a 3m cube, each wall is a rear-projected screen and you wear LCD shutter specs. Costs millions of pounds, but apparently it is very, very, very cool. Dunno if it comes with drivers for GTA: Vice City though ;)

My brother-in-law and best mate have a software company specialising in simulation etc.

One of the projects was a helicopter simulation for airshows. The projection system comprised of a hemisphere which a special projector that took a raw signal then distorted electronically it so it would display corectly through 180'... Never saw it but looked cool in the piccies!

Blimey, sounds cool! Remember that old cinemascope thing at Thorpe Park, where you stood up and looked upwards at the screen, the inside of a dome? I used to get really bad motion sickness off that as a kid, but now it isn't there

They had/have? one at Tragos the local ***** store down here! (they come from all over to shop there!)

Quite funny watching everyone stagger about in unison!!!

If you want to see a video clip of the simulation, send me an email (I'm sure you'll find my website and contact page)

And I'll send you the URL. Don't want to post it publicly!

I remember in the sixties they had one in Piccadilly Circus where you could watch a train going round and round onscreen really exciting groundbreaking stuff in those days
