I have a Sterling 40 that locks out on start up when the boiler is cold. The burner fires and after 4/5 seconds it locks out. If you wait the prescribed time before pressing the reset it the fires and works as normal i.e. works away coming on and off with the boiler thermostat until the room thermostat turns it off. If the boiler is still hot it will fire up again when the room thermostat drops below the set temperature, but if the boiler has cooled down to much it locks out again. You then have to go through the sequence above again, and so on and so forth.
I changed the capacitor first, no change, so I changed the control box , no change. Oil delivery is fine and it burns clean just a nice heat haze out of the flue.
Any thoughts?
Carl
