Sticking shed roof felt down with flash band

Hi all,

What are thoughts on using flash band to stick down roof felt overlaps to avoid both nailing through the felt and the messy bitumen glue?

Picture below shows what I mean which was an attempt to to fix a leak coming through nail holes. It hasn't worked so going to completely replace felt and looking at options to avoid nailing through it.

Flashband is not the ideal product here......consider running the felt roll in the other direction next time, or if you want to go the original way start at the bottom, give a good overlap and work up. Cold felt adhesives are available, and to cover the joins and any unavoidable nailing paint on some Evercryl or Aquapol to keep things watertight.

Hi there

Use 13mm clout nails. In the spot where you going to nail thru the felt put a blob of this stuff on then nail down but don't hammer in so it mashes the felt. The excess that oozes out smear over the nail head. PUT CLINGFILM ON THE HAMMER HEAD TO SAVE CLEANING IT
