Just signed up, so first off, hi everyone!
The tap that operates the shower on our shower/bath tap is really stiff. We had a plumber in to do some other work over a year ago, and he had a look at it. he said it was probably a problem with scale or the washer, but that he couldn't open it up as he didn't have a large enough socket. he advised me to get one and it would be an easy thing to look at myself.
So, over a year later I finally got round to it. Got the tap and decorative bits off, but can't get any further. I have a 30mm deep socket that reaches down to the bit that looks like a nut in the picture but I can't move it.
Is that what I need to undo? Is it just seized? Or am I missing something?
On the verge of just calling a plumber as I need our boiler serviced too, but I'd love to sort it out now I've got this far!
Cheers in advance,
Stuart
