Is there a register for stockbrokers, how could I find out if an broker was still trading and with which company, (strange topic for a diy forum, but i've been searching using google etc with no success, hope someone can help) Thanks

I can't find a register or list on theer but it says:
If you have any queries or need more information on the Approved Persons regime, then please contact the FSA helpline on 020 7066 0019 or email [email protected]
It should be possible to look people up to see if they are OK.
It should also be possibe to verify people on http://www.londonstockexchange.com/en-gb/home.htm
