stop tap

If I turn of the stop tap in my cottage (built 1830) it cuts off water supply to the whole row of 6 houses. I would like to know who is responsible for any repair bills because there is a slight leak and I am afraid it may get worse and burst??

if its shard then i think it's down to the water company

If your water supplier is united utilites then you are allowed one free repair per year, after that you are all equally responsible for any further repairs
