Storage Heater not working

IT'S WORKING!!!!!!!!

Great big MWAH to all who have given me help and advice!!!

When I took front off of storage heater and removed the bricks..the original element was black and a bit 'rusty' to the touch. I was a bit concerned because where the two prongs of the element go into those holes and held in the white casing with 4 small screws...the right hand side of this white casing has a hairline crack through it. Got it in ok and managed to put bricks and screw front back on.

Next I replaced the cut out thingie...but wasn't sure WHICH wire went on which! Rung my neighbour who said it didn't matter. Put the connectors on (one had to go on upside down as it was pushing against the other one)...fitted safety shield back over etc....and switched on!!!

Son has rung me this morning to tell me that storage heater is red hot!

Many MANY thanks to you all once again! xxxx
