Stove distance to combustibles

Hello,

I am looking to install a stove in a stone cottage, the fireplace is clear of combustibles, liner in place. The stove sits inside the fireplace, which is deep enough to fully house the stove (see diagram).

I am not sure how to interpret distance to combustibles to the side when the stove sits inside the fireplace. Distance to combustibles is 55cm to the side, the stove is 25cm from the stone wall either side. Does this mean I strip away the combustibles on the wall outside the fireplace a further 30cm?

I have a similar question about the flue, whether combustibles on the wall outside the fireplace count, when there is a stone wall in the way.

Thank you,

Thanks big-all, I went down the route of signing a work order with a stove manufacturer to provide and fit the stove, once I had done the building work. They are just saying they expect me to know what building work to do. I have had a couple of builders quote but they don't know the regulations. I think best to give up with the stove company and find another route. Luckily, I haven't put a deposit on the stove yet.

find a hetas or other scheme fitter, ask them for guidance for the donkey work and let them install and certify otherwise your flying blind
trying to go the seemingly cheaper route can be the most expensive route as you need to comply with what the person passing the installation deems to be correct
remember how you interoperate, the requirements mean nothing if its not the same as the person certifying the installation

Respected local stove manufacturer, using Hetas installers, not a 'cheaper route' - I'll change tack

I have not gone a cheap route! As I say, very good stoves, local installer who is Hetas registered. I want safe and am prepared to pay.
I have signed a work order with them and they won't provide advice.
Never mind, I'll look elsewhere.
Thanks all.

Looking at your diagram, by combustibles you mean skirting board?
Leave it as it is, I've seen a few hetas installed stoves in other people's properties, skirting board left as yours is, stops at the edge of the hearth.
At the end of the day someone is going to have to sign it off, either Hetas or building control, if they have a problem with it then it's a simple job to cut it back.

Combustibles on the wall won't be a problem either, but they will need to be clear of the opening by whatever the regs or stove instructions say. Some people want a timber mantelshelf above the opening, this will need to be a minimum distance from the stove, quite often a steel heat shield is used to form a barrier underneath.
