We've recently had a new cabin installed and were left with the skirting and architrave to do once the walls were plastered. However, on opening the pack of architrave it seems an odd shape (photo attached ) which is confusing us on how to install it as it is shaped front and back. Are we missing something/being dim?

Have emailed the installers but hoping for a quicker answer online...

Profile picture attached.

Thank you in advance. Caroline

you can fit it with either face outwards, depending on your whim.

But surely it wouldn't then fit flush with the wall on the outer edge..

The rippled edge matches the skirting btw, it's the curved edge that is confusing us.

Usually its the skirting thats double sided like that rather than the architrave. Are there not any single sided pieces in the kit?

Only the skirting boards which are double the width. I think the suppliers have made a mistake..

Our installer is saying the 5 inch boards we took as skirting are actually architraves for the windows and doors and the 3 inch architraves are in fact the skirting boards? !?! Does this make sense to anyone?

There is such a thing as 3 inch skirting, but it seems unusual for the architrave to be wider than the skirting. Although maybe there's something about the cabin construction that calls for wider architrave
