Some work was done on the lights in our avenue about 3 years ago and during the course of the work, (can't remember what they did), they strung some wires between the lamp posts and from these are dangling white rectangular markers.
They are still there now even though the lights have been working ok since they finished. What are these markers for?
Any ideas?

Could they have been warnings to aware the workers of other objects like Bt wires, to prevent damage with high vehicles/boom lifts etc

May have been for a temporary overhead supply until the DNO had done the service transfers in the new lamp columns.

BT lines are a pain its quite an art getting the boom to miss serveral of them but there is usually a bit of play in them.

Thanks for the replies lads.

No BT wires around as it is on a central reservation.

Temporary supply sounds feasible though God knows why they haven't taken them down yet.

Once again, thanks lads

Could the wires be intended to prevent a lamp post toppling over and falling into the road if hit by a vehicle. ?
