After spending the best part of the afternoon trying (and failing!) to start two different petrol strimmers and petrol hedge trimmers, I’ve realised I need to invest in some new garden equipment before we are overgrown.
Current hedge trimmers have 28” blade, and the strimmers have a 30cm+ cutting radius. I’d want to replace with similar. After buying used/cheap previously I’ve realised it’s false economy. We have a pretty big garden, some of which is woodland. I need something that is going to cope with some reasonable hammer (although not daily use.)
I know battery technology is coming on fast: I’m wondering whether now is the time to take the plunge and buy battery powered. If I bought the same brand they could share batteries. I’ve looked at a few and there seems to be a bewildering choice at varying price points. I”m unsure if for similar money to petrol equipment I can get battery powered that will offer similar performance, or will it be too ‘lightweight’ for the task in hand.
Has anyone any experience of battery-powered strimmers or hedge-trimmers? Any recommendations?
