Hello,,,I recently put a new rear brake caliper on my Ford focus,,, I didn't check the state of the threads on the brake pipe and ended up ruining the threads in the aluminium caliper,,,is there any way to fix this I wonder,,, ??? Obviously I could re thread it but is there anything available that would screw into the larger threads and then the brake pipe screw into that,,, ???

I would doubt it, but worth checking if Helicoil offer such a size. Its a drill, a tap, plus a sort of spring, plus an insertion tool set. The spring being a thread, which screws into your larger thread and matches internally the thread you need, which you have damaged. Likely, the cheapest/easiest option is to source a new caliper, or see if running a tap through it might work.

Is the caliper aluminium on that?
You could try running a new brake pipe end in, just to gauge the extent of the damage.
But, if it is definitely kaput and unrepairable, I would just get another one other than rs about with it.

Check the brake pipe thread is ok before knackering a replacement caliper.
