Stripping OSMo UV protection oil

Good morning.

I’m trying to rejuvenate my cedar fence. I oiled it with OSMO UV protection oil a couple of years and the colour has faded slightly.

Is there a product I can use to remove the existing oil from the cedar panels as it’s taking a long time to sand?

Yes that sounds like it might take a fair amount of time too. I saw there was some OSMO paint stripper and wondered whether that might work?

If you buy panther 5lt paint stripper it's not ment for DIY market and it's the good stuff vs the smaller tins for DIY.
That's what I've been told.
Try that maybe

I often recommend OSMO products but in my opinion the UV protection oil is oversold.

It is only suitable for vertical surfaces and and it only has a UV factor of 12.

I guess that your cedar turned grey.

Over the years I have spoken to a few companies about sealing the likes of cedar. Each of them told me pigmented finishes would be required . In short, none of the clear coats would suffice over the long term.

Can you post a photo of the fence?

If it were sawn timber, I might recommend a pressure washer. It will damage the surface but I suspect that your's is not sawn timber.
