Yes, absolutely fine. It's a single sided (H/W only) pump.

Shower typically have NRV's fitted, stops cross/backflow

I fitted the shower (mixer bar) but didn't fit a NRV.

The pump itself has a NRV, it has to, otherwise the pressure would be instantly lost back through the pump to the HW storage tank once it stops.

Internal to the shower, if fitted then usually just behind the inlets/filters, shower type dependent.

As suggested there would be NRV's in the pump too, usually internal to the flow switch.
