Hi just had a stud-wall fitted on a price, the price said he would complete ready to decorate, but wants to charge to fit the door and architrave, is this normal practice? Surely fitting the door should of been a given should I question him or just pay him the extra?

Depends how the contract was worded and the cost of the door, architraves, skirting were included. Seems to me there has been a lack of communication on both your parts. Bearing in mind a pass door can be anything from £30 to a couple of hundred.

Was there any mention of a door either verbally or in writing?

Bizarre.

If a wall was "ready for decoration", then the architrave would be on, maybe not the door, but it depends what was implicit or implied in the quote.
