I am a previously trained spark coming back to the trade.

I am here reading through Elec guide to building regs to refresh my thinking and while reading the final circuit tables under the Title
Cable csa PVC/PVC it shows the following 2.5/1.5 for the "ring supplying 13a socket outlets" row.

Why the difference for 2.5/1.5, is this for sheathed and unsheathed cables or is it for conductor and earth csa ?

If I'm not mistaken, 2.5/1.5 simply refers to what you might know as 2.5mm sq twin-and-earth. 2.5 is the csa of the conductors and 1.5 is the csa of the CPC.

Of course I could well be mistaken and/or not properly understood what you're asking!:) Don't worry a real spark will be along soon to confirm. EDIT: in fact, before I've even finished typing!
