Sucking air into system. Move flow restrictor? Help please?

The last drawing is the best way, but it needs an auto by-pass valve across one of the MV's.

Sorry to be thick......why?
The boiler has no over-run timer so the boiler only fires
and the pump only runs when one of the MVs is open.

Ian.

You don't need to alter the pipework.
surely in the first pic, the cf and ov are wrongly position and there will be problems with pumping over or sucking in air.If you think not can you explain.

The first pic was a standard way of doing it with gravity primaries, and the pump return should go into a spreader bar, if the pump is connected to the wrong tapping it will give problems.

The last drawing is the best way, but it needs an auto by-pass valve across one of the MV's.
I know that is how it was done with grav, but times move on and fully pumping that causes probs, If there were 2 returns it might be a dif matter (as the pump is on return that would be awkward)

I've missed out some of the return pipes......
Would this idea work?
You can see space is tight)
(I've left out some of the return pipes for clarity)
Is the "U" bend under the pump OK?

Cheers.

Hi Again.

Thanks very much for the diagram.
I'll be sorting this in the summer.
There is NO pump over-run and......
The living room radiator has NO TRV, it is thermostat controlled.

One last thing......

Magnaclean in the bottom of the "U" beneath the pump?
(After a system clean of course)?

Cheers.

Ian.

Ian, better to fit the Magna on the boiler return if you have room.Prevents debris entering boiler and runs at a lower temperature.
