Hi - have tried replacing a dead DM4601 with a new DM5601. Wired it all the same, but it doesn't work - it sits in the three quarter way round position, and doesn't move when I change from HW to RADS, etc.

Any advice?

It's not a trick question, guys - is no-one able to offer advice?

What about 'maybe there was nothing wrong with the 1st one' and the fault lies somewhere else. Can you use a multimeter?

Sunvic make two types of actuators. One is MOMO and other spring return.

Looked at Sunvic product list, do not see you model.

this is the list from Sunvic can't see the numbers your quoting?

The Duoflow system used to have a grey metal control box. If it's got this it's more than likely going to be the relay inside that has gone.

It might be easier to remove the Duoflow control box, fit a normal mid pos valve and wire up as y plan.

regards

Hi DP,
In my experience it's the relay in the Duoflow control box that plays up.
I think microswitch's must have just been a dream in those days.

rgds

there's a big grey metal control box with a relay inside controlled by the room stat, think I would sugest change to a y plan, not sure if you can still get a acutator for this thing.

Wetshoes i thought you were refering to the actuator.

OP, if you have spring return actuator instead of MOMC, terminate orange wire to 10 (or 14 if you choose), grey to 11 and white to 1 on the grey box. If relay is removeable, remove it else remove wire from 1 and connect it to white from MV using a choco block. Blue from MV goes to 16

You must be electrically competent, ELSE LEAVE IT ALONE.

The actuator doesn't have a microswitch on these.
Control box does it all
Although it's possible to wire around the relay when fitting a 3 way valve (with microswitch) in my experience once the relay goes the pcb in the control box will follow it shortly, after all they have to be at least _oops showing my age now_ years old.

Surely not much more wiring involved to get rid of control box and replace with nice shiny plastic wiring centre that most plumbers / electricians will understand and be able to work on.

Wethoes, does the actuator not have contacts to control positioning of actuator drive??
