Got an e-mail from my ISP technician informing me that he had got my internet connection going by "Stopping my Superhighway and starting my Broadband". What does this mean and how can he do it without me at this end following his instructions?

Sounds like a blag or they screwed up the connection in the first place.

Is your ISP BT?
Have you ever had ISDN installed? They used to refer to home ISDN as Home highway.
