Supplementary bonding

I think Bernard was wanting to join his "exposed" pipe (which I don't think should be earthed or bonded) to another to create a second earth path.
No matter how many times I read it, I find it difficult to read bernard as saying that. Even if you think (probably correctly) that the pipe should not be earthed or bonded, he surely is implying that it is already earthed (by the shower), since he is talking about adding a second path to earth, "so as to not to rely on the shower circuit's CPC".

In practice, I'm not at all sure that the pipe (which becomes plastic above the ceiling) would be 'earthed by the shower, since they seem to usually have plastic input couplings - but maybe bernard is going to say that it is earthed from the shower's CPC 'via the water in the pipe'??

Kind Regards, John

Ok. I may be mistaken

But it won't be.

I can't see how that is the case.

He may, but is it?

Any way, IF there is any supplementary bonding required in the room then the shower CPC should be connected to it thus giving him his second earth path.
