Does anybody in the UK make a Surge Protected din mount mcb for use in the CU ? I've seen adverts for them in the USA on Google but nothing for the UK market.

You wonder how there's room inside an MCB for surge protection as well....

bigzed - are the US ones double-width?

I'll be damned if I can't find the US advert on Google now  They did look VERY similar to the Hager ones that Crystal Ball posted the link to though. Seems like if you want surge protection in the CU, it's best to have a HUGE unit with plenty of space. They seem to take up four bays ?

I've got an MEM TVSS fitted in my CU, and it occupies two standard modules. It does not incorporate an MCB.

Are you sure about that? The technical data on the Hager site says that the maximum backup breaker rating is 25A....

I have dug out the sheet that came with it, and you are correct, I also had a look in the CU and I had removed it when I added a new circuit about 3 years ago, it does not offer much protection lying in the bottom of the mains cupboard

Hi, just out of curiosity, anybody know any where specific these can be purchased from?
