Would appreciate a second opinion from any roofers - this SVP is new and I'm concerned about the oversized 'cover plate thing(?)' where it penetrates the roof and if it'll be waterproof. The builder insists it's fine (as they always do). thanks

It is crap. They have not supported the lead slate and that's a lovely place for birds, squirrels or insects to get access to the loft. It looks like the slate should have been tucked under the 6th row of tiles, not put in that low.

It's not fine for a builder to say "I've always been doing jobs wrong all my life".
