Bought some SWA and glands today, it will be terminated in metal boxes which will be connected to the circuit earth from the connection in the box.

Do I also need to connect the earth to the gland using the banjo(?) in the gland kit or is this not necessary?

You need to earth the armour using your gland kit.

Whether it's at one end or both depends on a number of things.

But the question is "is the connection from the armour (steel) to the gland (brass) to the metal box (galvanised steel) to the box earth connection (brass pressed into back box) to earth connection to circuit sufficient"

or

do I also need to connect the banjo to the earth connection giving a parallel path?

Am using three core so it is just the armour earthing, not the circuit earth.

The small amount of extra work using the banjo the will give one more level of safety. And emphasise to anyone who works on it later that the armourin must be earthed.
