As far as I'm aware when laying a SWA cable from a house to garden shed, it needs to be 450mm below ground level. However, although this will be OK in the garden, when the cable passes under the patio into the house, it will only be 200mm below ground level - under a slabbed area, but it will be in a crush resistant conduit/ducting. Would this depth be OK?

Also, the cable will be running a small light in the shed together with a socket to run a 1500w lawn mower. I've got a spool of 1.5mm SWA cable, would this be OK over a distance of 30m?

Thanks.

Yes it would >click me<

Can't help with your other points though.

The depth under the slabbed area will be fine as BS7671 says depth should be enough to avoid any reasonably forseeable disturbance of the ground. Highly unlikely under a patio !
