Ideal isa combi installed eighteen months ago.
The hot water flow from kitchen tap(first outlet from boiler) became restricted. Removed defuser from mouth of tap and found a piece of swaff about 1/4 x 3/16, white deposit on one side, the backing appeared to be crumbling grey metal, such as one would find in decaying di-cast.
Is ther anything in such boilers that could be disintergrating?
Would be interested to hear your comments.
Then I shall contact the installers to check it out.
Many thanks,
Chaotic.

I sometimes found that when old limescale deposits are dislodged, especially after fitting the water softener. Have you got one?

Put it in vinegar or descaler and see if it fizzes and dissolves.

We do not have water softener fitted. unfortunately did not save swaff, if it occurs again I will try your suggestion to what chemical re-action.
Thank you JohnD for your response.
