When swapping a bath waste, if I use silicone do I need to leave it for ages before I test it?

Generally no, depends on what you're using it on/for though
Its just a bead on the top of the bath waste I don't use the supplied washer. And maybe a tiny bit on the underside washer.

Should be waterproof within minutes. I find there's nothing wrong with using the supplied washer with a bead of silicone top and bottom as there can sometimes be a noticeable gap between the waste and the recessed throat of the basin/bath waste hole.

Thanks have found when I put a bead of silicone on the top washer that it squishes out of place. Maybe I have been putting too much on?

If you go to a bath waste thats leaking. Depending on the condition of it do most people take apart silicone re tighten. Or just install a new waste?
