I'm swapping out a broken WC pan for the same - I don't know when it was fitted so don't know how old the Multiquik is....

Is it practice, to swap out the Multiquik as well, regardless of age, - in order not to have to clean it [ yuckie!! ] and hope it's still a tight fit, or for less work or for another sale.... *cough*

Or is it practice to clean it.........

Also, when fitting multiquiks, is it ok to ease it onto the pan with a dab of silicon grease or is it best to fight the friction? [ Could use a dab of KY instead - as that's waterbased....]

Thanks!

u tight b*&^%$d....
put a new one in and yes to silicone or ky

You can clean pan connectors but it takes ages of biting your nails to get THEM clean...

Multiqwik's I find are inclined to leak at the pan, more than other makes. I've been told and have found it best to use no lubricant. They supply some jelly stuff for the fitting's male part. I don't think you'll need anything for the female part - they aren't that stiff to shove on.

Oy!

I'm not the tight 1..... her I'm doing it for is the tight one - ducks have nothing on her!!! I'd prefer to swap it out! So much less hassel & I can eat me butties without a 2nd thought! *Scurries off to check Hep jabs are up to date*

Ok, thanks folks! Will con her into opening her purse by suggesting a potential leak. Must admit, the last one just slid in with a bit of spit. But will keep the KY to hand!

Hmmm! Soon need AdultCheck to read these posts.........

The clue is in the question - do you want to lubricate the pan connector so that it comes off just as easily as it goes on?

Not too concerned about the coming off - unless it slips of while in use.....!

I think start with the spit & then if too stiff, go with the KY as it will wash away if wetted.

Thanks folks!

Can you remind me - what stops your lubricated pan connector coming off while in use?
