swimming records

I was at a conference some years ago and one of the speakers (a sports psychologist or something like that) quoted a survey of elite athletes.
if there was a drug that would get you on the podium, that was untraceable, but had a 50/50 chance of killing you in 5 years, would you take it - Most said yes." If it has a 70% chance of killing you? Still a 1/3rd said yes.

Elite Athletes will do everything to win. Including having a banana split it would seam.

It’s just one tiny example of wokeism and wokery and it’s catastrophic effect on society.
I feel sorry for the real women competing at the highest level , clearly not allowed to protest or boycott the events in protest.
The fact that these women are forced to perform under such conditions is an absolute disgrace and makes a mockery of the credibility of events like the commonwealth games and Olympics.

Totally agree.
Women should just boycott these competitions so the former man can win on his own and celebrate the farce.

I disagree. Women have always seekd equality and this is their chance. After all, the TG people are doing nothing against the law and therefore IMO
if it is victimisation. The governing bodies really need to grow backbones and make a firm decision to stop this nonesense.

Nonsense.
Sportswomen have never asked to compete with men for equality.
See my example of Steve Redgrave above.
They know that men have a natural different standard and accept that.
In some sports women and men compete against each other or in mixed teams: that's the nature of those sports.
But I challenge you to find one woman willing to compete at high level with men in athletics for example.
Usain Bolt could win the women 100m at the Olympics even without training for a couple of years.
Are you just trying to wind everyone up as usual?

Nonsense = most sports women have always demanded parity on prizes in sports = FACT

Fact = women have asked for equality in most thing and in the uk
rightly so banged on about workers rights and yes the gov raided their retirement age to the same as men:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Women have demanded equal pay

I'm all for everyone's rights but is it not a case of being careful what you wish for??

Its not the mens, women's or more importantly TG peoples fault it is the fault of the governing bodies that mange these sports

Discrimination is nasty and I blame the games bodies that are too fearful to act

There is a woman i the usa I think that flies a f15 and she can outgun most males

Thank you

Even greater reason they don't want males posing as women to snatch away their hard earned increase in prize money.
In fact, it stands to reason that the greater the reward in women's sports the greater the likelihood there will be male cheats taking advantage.

I'm all for equality, fairness etc as clearly demonstrated in post after post here

The sports prizes money - why should that be equal when women's sport EG tennis in England pulls in less income? It is a business and if you ran a business I'm sure you would not want a loss and like most make as much profit as you can within reason.

There is fairness and there is within reasonable amounts.

Equal pay for women, never had a problem with that as long as everyone did the same job.

FYI for a short while years ago when younger I always wanted to work on a car production line and then we took on women. We were paid on pay grades and most line workers were on the same grade but there were jobs that had to be completed faster per minute and women were as good or better than most men then there were the heavier jobs that did not provide lifting geat and to do this for 9 hours a day 5 days a week - non of the women I say could ever mange those - so was that equality? Again, for too long women had been treated as third-class citizens just like minorities in every country not just the UK. Discrimination is awful and in sports, I blame the lame, impotent, cowards of the sports governing bodies for not acting in the best interests of all
as they the gov body is allowing discriminations and upsets in the sporting world and further afield.
Thank you

I'd wake up about 2am with 'whole lotta love'

I salute your impeccable taste. Several times each year, pandemics permitting, I like to visit one of my favourite pubs on the outskirts of Prague. The landlord is a large, long haired, ageing rock fan who worships Zeppelin. After arrival, the next thing I always do after ordering my first beer is to put W L Love on the jukebox. This always guarantees the volume going up and a good night ahead.

Springsteen is class too.

Just so we know, who or what, are you identifying as today? Male, female, eunuch, unicorn, leprechaun??

I've heard of modern terms like 'gender fluidity', but yours seems to turn on a sixpence?

I think that myself and one or two others on here are a little confused.com.

We live in interesting times! :)

Apparently the Humanitarian is a man married to another man. He talks often about his husband and has stated that he is a man although he also says he doesn't mind women as long as they are good looking and between the ages of 23 and 36. Or fit men. So that's cleared that up then. (n)

You're deliberately mixing working life with sport just to stir the pot.
Of course a woman doing exactly the same work of a man to the same standard deserves the same pay, hopefully we all agree on that.
A man competing against women in athletics for example, is definitely at advantage, no 2 ways about it.
There's no argument of equality here.
You're throwing the word equality in the mix to fulfil your snowflake pot stirring agenda, no surprise.
With regards to tennis, women play 3 sets, men 5, so they get paid less.
Football, like all other sports is dictated by budget, so more sponsors mean more money for players.
Men football attracts more viewers, more sponsors and more money, that's why men are paid more.
That's also the reason why premier league footballers are paid a lot more than 3rd division, despite doing the same thing.
Most sportspeople have a day job because they can't afford to live off the meagre wage they get from the sport, think archery for example.
Some sports are richer than others and the same sport have different budgets for men and women, a fact nobody can deny.
This doesn't mean there's inequality in sport.
Is there anything that you say without the intent to cause chaos???

Not "deliberately" doing anything other than posting the facts.

What you are "deliberately" doing is ignoring the facts when they don't suit your argument.

Of course, there is and was "inequality in sport" and the example I gave you, tennis. I don't watch the rubbish and last watched it when the ggreat man retired/Macanrow and since then I have no idea who is the best and who is not. I do recall women demanding equal prize money in England, not sure if it materialised but I believe it did but ready to be corrected.

What about dressage I think they call it - women are on par with men so

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/56184881

The bottom line and a point you have ignored repeatedly is the fact that if anyone is to blame it is the lame sporting body for that sport.

Thanks, Mottie. I think I understand now, sort of.
