Hi, I have an electric pottery wheel, the on off switch was a air switch ie you squeezed a bellows to switch it on and off, this has broken and I would like to replace it with a simple standard on off switch, what type would I need to get? I think it would need to be 10amp. Many Thanks

The reason for the air bellows switch is so that the electricity is not anywhere near your drippy, clay-slippy hands, and all the water that is sloshed around the potter's work earea.

If you use something else, it will have to be suitable for the environment and man enough for the job. Its any one's guess if 10amp is enough. What do you think the start-up surge might be for the wheel? Does the switch operate a relay/starter/contactor?

Suggest you get a proper replacement spare from the manufacturer.
