Looking for some help here.

I have attempted to get an electrician in to do this despite it no doubt being simple but as per every tradesman I have attempted to get in Reading I have been let down again.

My problem is I have several light switches I want to replace. Done half of them no probs but some the old switches are a different layout to the new.

I have attached pictures.....

This is one of three switches controlling the same lights, two just single toggles and the last is a on/off/dimmer.

Old one (top is labelled L1, bottom L2)....

New one.....

Can anyone advise me what goes where?

see where is has the word "intermediate" stamped on the old one.?
you need one of those..
the new one is not intermediate and cannot be used..

Rubbish - these are end of line switches so I might struggle to get another.

If I am re-ordering what should I be asking for?

Thanks for your very quick answer - even if its not what I wanted to hear!!

I assume an intermediate switch with have nice easy matching connections?

Will post up my next switch problem tomorrow!

One big benefit is that you have noted where the wires were connected on the old switches.

There are millions of posts on here where folk just take the wires off the old switches and can't remember where they go on the new ones (or the new ones have slightly different connection layouts).
Gold star!
