I'm planning on installing some vertical t & g timber into a new bedroom wall to act as a headboard..... But.. can't decide if it should be just the width of the bed, or perhaps a bit wider..?. 4 studs would be 1600 which is the width of the bed, but....
Anyone done this?

If your T&G is vertical you'll need a horizontal ladder frame - and TBH because it isn't structural the spacing isn't super critical. I'd go wider and install bedside tables/shelves either side to accommodate alarm clock, tea mugs, watches, mobile phone, books, etc. That's just personal choice, though
