Yes you are right, a second look at the pics confirms that but puzzled why it shold be nescasary. Do companies not colour match unit carcasses to doors these days.

The pic of the inside of the ops cupboard seems to show that the cabinet is a lighter grey than the decorative panel. So I presumed that the reason for it being there was to match the doors. The 2 kitchens we have had fitted in the last 30 years had cabinetes that were built with panels that were the same colour as the doors.

The end panel makes sense. The unit butts up to the wall on the left. The panel eliminates any problems with the return wall being out of square.

These days doors are often sold in a multitude of colours, I guess it would not be practical to make all of the carcasses match the door colour.

My last kitchen, 2019, was matt white carcasses, the end panels and doors were high gloss white.
