Talbot Talisman

On the outside of a Bungalow is a round Black Plastic box, about the size of a big JB, labelled "Talbot Talisman". It has a length of low voltage Atarm/BT cable leaving it & going into the loft.

Anyone know what it is. I googled but only got motorhomes!

How old is your bungalow? Quite possibly just as you say- a junction box for the telephone. Where does it go inside the loft? Where does the cable come from that is entering the box? Do you have another telephone line coming into the house, the other one may just be the redundant one that they could not be bothered to remove after replacing your line.

The bungalow is about 25 years old. The box it about 5 ft off the ground right outside the front door. The incoming phone line is higher up on the same wall.
Did'nt have time to investigate where the wire went. It could just be a JB from a now redundant phone system, but a funny place to put a JB. Thought someone might recognise the name.

It is a Talbot Talisman remote water meter reading unit.

It is usually attached to an outside wall with a multicore cable (similar to phone cable) running back inside the building to a water meter.
