Hi, I have previously tanked a shower enclosure where it was the type that had the upstands fitted to the wall, tanking done, then tiled within the cubicle. It (tanking) was simple to do as essentially the vertical and horizontal edges were in place and meant you taped a U shape and waterproofed everything within that area.

With my new shower it looks like I need to fit the tray first, then tile the walls and then fit the enclosure ON TOP of the tiles. Obviously I will be tanking the tray/wall prior to the tiles going on, but that means the enclosure upstands will not be getting done.

Is that not a potential flaw in the use of tanking for this type of enclosure?
