tanking and chased in shower pipes

Hi - I'd appreciate a bit of advice on what to do with tanking my shower. I've got the shower supply pipes chased into one of the walls of the cubicle (breezeblock + plaster) and hadn't planned to plaster over them. What do you think I should do about tanking over them? Cover the pipes with membrane or tape and then tank?
