Hi, I have installed as shower bath which I have secured and sealed. Before I tile do I need to tank the walls above the bath? The walls are solid brick. The walls were originally tiled and had not been tanked before. I have removed the tiles, filled any areas where the plaster had come off and have primed (Primer G http://www.tilemountain.co.uk/primer-g-1kg.html).

I'd use the Ardex WPC or the Bal WP1. Would rather do that thank risk the plaster going soggy.

Thanks for replying will the primer I used be ok for applying any waterproof tanking over it? Will I be able to tile directly onto the tanking?

The primer will be fine, Both Bal and Ardex do their own versions, so this is the Mapei equivalent.

As for when the area is tanked, yes you can tile directly onto it.
