tap on toilet not working

Hi, we had a blocked toilet the other day. The toilet had to be removed so the tap was turned off. Since then the tap doesn't seem to work at all so we have to fill the cistern with a bucket. Any ideas what I can do? Thanks[/b]

We don't have these tap systems over here (maybe we should have) but probably the bit that you turn by hand is no longer turning the water valve itself....is it removable, allowing you to turn the valve with pliers (90 deg) ?
