Tapping from pipes

Hi, few weeks ago I noticed a tapping noise from the area of my kitchen where my boiler is. I've stripped all the boxing in from around the boiler and and there is no sign of water. The tapping is quite loud, I don't think I would hear water dripping from outside the boxing. Anyway the same tapping can be heard in the bathroom directly above. There is a a leaky tap which is now a constant flow, which I'm having fixed, but not sure if this is linked.

The tapping sound happens about 5 or 6 times on the trot and maybe an hour or two apart. I doesn't always happen when the combi boiler starts or when a tap runs either.

If anyone has any guess as to what it might be I'm all ears
