We have had new kitchen fitted, the fridge is now going to rest again the wall where a current BT (which we do use) phone socket is located.

We need to recess the socket back to the wall, are there blanking sockets available (the width is 6.5cm). We have plenty of other BT socket so not worried about loosing this one. I can find 80mm plates but nothing smaller.

Cheers.

Sink an ordinary electrical back box into the wall, and either use a standard blanking plate or replace the socket with the larger standard telephone socket designed for flush mounting.

had a look, the socket wasn't even connected, the wires had been taped up previously so have put into the wall and sealed over.
