Hi,

I have a Texecom premier elite 24 (V6.03.02 LS1) alarm. One of the sensors I have is a Texecom Impaq S shock sensor that is attached to my patio sliding door.

I am looking to replace this sliding door with bi-fold doors so I need to temporary remove the sensor whilst the door is being replaced. In wintex, the sensor is configured in Panel location Z6.

To do this successfully, I think below are the steps:

- back up configuration in Wintex (wintex connection is via smartCom)
- mark the sensor as 'Not Used' in Wintex and send the configuration to the panel
- Remove the wires from location Z6 in the panel
- Remove the sensor
- Re-install the sensor on the new door

Are those the correct steps? And do I just follow the steps backwards to re-install the sensor and program it back into the Panel?

TIA

put the zone to not used is correct.

However, using wintex caution .

Receive all and save.
Change in zone page for. Zone 6 to not used send current page only.

Disconnect wintex, close wintex and don’t save.

Remove sensor. Be aware there is power to a shock sensor so to prevent issues don’t short the power cables.

Once it’s back on, open the profile, connect via smart com, zone 6 should have the original settings (ie Intruder rather than not used as zone type).

Send current page only.(zone page)

Thanks for the response @secureiam super helpful.

Just on the wiring, if I insert them into a two way Wago connector, will that be ok to reduce the risk of shorting?

Also, is it not possible to disconnect the wire completely from the panel as I have a curious 14 months old so rather make the wire dead. I can always ask the missus to spend a few days at her mums if this is not possible.

Thanks!

It’s 12v dc it’s not going to hurt anybody ….plus there’s no fuses on a 24 …so you aren’t going to blow the fuse , just snip, the 12v + wire at the insulation and tape it up

The PTC fuses should self rest once any short is rectified, but it can cause issue with devices going into tamper as the get temporary down powered (they dont blow like glass fuses, so dont need replacing, just short to be rectified.)

It should be DC power of relatively low voltage and current, however AC voltage could be present but unlikely as if presence is significant your likely to have had some issues with the system functioning normally.

Temporary to stop shorts, tape individual cores ends, or use choc bloc, if cutting cable make sure you have enough left for restriping and can get device in desired location. Some times you dont have a lot to play with

@secureiam @sparkymarka - thank you for your helpful responses. I've just done a 'dry-run' and I've managed to disconnect without setting any thing off so well pleased. I've noted the steps down and will repeat on the morning of the bifold door replacement.

I've attached a picture of my current setup - at the moment the wire is visible against the frame of the door (see picture attached). Any advice on how it can be hidden in the frame? The door is a bifold aluminum door
