Can someone confirm to measure zs on a ring final circuit you would split the ring at the consumer unit, put one end in connector block and using a ppropriate meter measure the other end?

And the same with r1 + r2, join live to cpc on one end measure the other, then join neutral to cpc and measure again?

Thanks

Zs is measured by testing the the circuit at every outlet with an EFLI tester, and record the highest value.

you have to be carefull with your r's and R's too...

r1, r2, and rn are the end to end resistance readings of the individual conductors..

(R1+R2) in a ring circuit will be (1/4xr1) + ( 1/4xr2)

you cross connect the phase and earth conductors at the board so that the outgoing phase and the incomming earth are together, and vice-versa

then you take readings at all sockets on the ring and note the highest, but they should all be more or less the same..

if one or more are higher then that indicates a spur off the main ring..
