I am planning on purchasing a robotic vac:

And was wondering whether this will trigger the alarm if the zone is armed?
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't expect it to be warm enough to trigger the PIRs but I admit that I am guessing.

are your sensors "pet friendly"?
I know mine are - although I don't have a pet.
Presumably some sensors are aware of the size of an object

the only way to know for certain is to test it, whilst I would like to say it wont cause issues even on normal pirs (non pet mode) its possible light may bounce off the unit and strike the pir causing an activation.

hmmm...
Wanted to determine this before I commit to a vacuum.

May be one for Texecom support. Will keep you posted and thanks for your help.

They won't be able to confirm either way mainly because it won't have been tested and that each property is different.

Be really surprised if you can get an answer that you can be certain of .

For example if tech support have tested a robot vac it may not be you're model with your setup.

It really is that simple.

The device itself should be small enough to be ignored but light bouncing off it or something else happening can not be determined.

It is highly unlikely you will get anything definitive and legally binding on its suitability.

If light bounces off the robot then some kind of cover might work
You used to be able to buy fablon that had a baize like surface.
there are various fabrics that absorb light like wool serge

We have customer query false alarm activations in room with robot cleaners.
They possibly can cause issues.

how stupid is that ….just vacuum when the house is unset like normal people

No I get the concept of doing the cleaning when your out.

I can think of ways you might be able to temporary disable the zones that could be affected bit a bit of a faff.
