My parents have a Premier 48 and an attached Speech Dialler, been installed for a fair few years but continues to work pretty much without fault – I think!

Over the last couple of months there have been two “false” alarm triggers both from the same PIR so whether there is a [very] intermittent issue with it or there was some movement detected I'm not sure however..

..with the first alarm around 04:00Hrs, bell was activated but no outgoing call made from the dialler – certainly not received anyway, on the second alarm the house was unoccupied, same PIR with the bell was activated but this time a call was initiated by the dialler but not until 45 mins later

02:14:19 Zone Alarm
02:14:20 Bell Active
02:14:20 Alarm Active
02:14:28 Zone Restore

I received the call at 02:59.

Might there by a reason as to why the delay ?

Many thanks for any insight, help or suggestions...

Is the clock on the panel correct for a start ? Are they on a fibre line ?

Yep, clocks match - did go back and check though as initially thought there were perhaps just 1Hr out when I got there, but no.

As for the line I'm not sure - they have BT copper to the house still I guess but what goes on after that I don't know - could that be something I need to follow up on ? Hadn't crossed my mind until I've seen it mentioned in few posts.

By chance there was another Alarm activation from the same Zone/PIR early hours of this morning o it might seem that should be changed but again the Speech Dialler didn't make the call until 45 mins after Alarm/Bell activation ?

MTIA again for any thoughts...

Without knowing how the speech dialer is connected ? From an output ? From the bell trip ? Could be a delay set ?
Best bet would be go to site and test it

Thanks for the reply.

I've been over to my parents this afternoon to try take a look and get my head around the P48 Installation Guide and settings etc...

Unfortunately the property is now empty and whilst replacing a PIR (temp omitted)will hopefully avoid further disruption to the neighbours at silly o'clock it's the delay on dialling that I'm struggling with it seems...

Speech dialler is connected to Digi Outputs 2, 3 & 4 (4 not used) – 2for PA and 3 for Alarm and on testing the Speech Dialler Outputs dials and calls out with corresponding message to chosen contact.

After finding the engineer code only attribute for the outputs was “I” but I've also added the “U” to both and on a System Test for Outputs from a Keypad that also appears to work as the Output test triggers the Dialler – call made - no delay.

Might there be a specific delay setting I've overlooked that could be an issue ?

Again, thanks for any insight, appreciated.

Did you set the alarm and activate it ? It’s no good just testing outputs as other things can come into play ..

..just via Testing the Outputs TBH.

I'll be back tomorrow so can try playing around/setting/activate a little - anything you might suggest could come into play with the settings ?

Again, appreciate the help - it used to have a regular/annual check but it's been some time now I suspect.....

Only thing I can think of is comms delay ….but I think this is in the seconds range ….

Thanks Sparky appreciate your efforts...I'll check - might be set for 2,700 secs !

I think I did check them though against the default settings and nothing appeared untoward - I was looking to see if the default 15Min Bell Duration and some other 030 Min default might somehow be connected but nothing jumped out..

Cheers
