So the family bought a house with a Texecom Premier Elite 48w system but no codes. So am prepped for the reset and a day of reading from the installation manual and setting alarms off.

I will probably have many questions, but first, once the reset has gone through, will the previous communication to the server centre setup be reset?
They would like to use it as a basic alarm, the service was discontinued some time ago, and as they will be mostly zoned for out buildings seems silly to pay.
Also, if the system is being used as a standalone unit, is there a need for a firmware update, or is this mostly to combat issues for online use?

Thank you :)

First of all, look at reset of engineers code only, Texecom you tube channel, if nvm isn’t locked that is your least effort required.

Also if this doesn’t work, neither will a full default! So why full default at this stage.
You only need this if you don’t have engineers code, if you don’t have rest try the default engineers code you might drop lucky!

Doing a full reset will wipe everything out and i suspect it will give you some grief.

I don’t know how your system is setup wrt to coms on it, smart com or other.
The answer to the server and what you need to do will solely depend on what you have.

Comip, and the app associated with it is defunct, so unlikely that will be available to you at all, unless it was something specific for the installer.

The Smart com, if it hasn’t been upgraded through the ages, then chances are it be a new smartcom.

If it’s a smart com of a certain age but upgraded it may or may not be on a cloud account.

If it is on a cloud account, it could be assigned to the installer, in which case a request to take it over is required.

If they don’t authorise it, then that’s where the fun begins.

So Menu 4 on the keypad will tell me the version of the panel currently, this is critical information as the process and what’s likely to of been done or not. In combination with coms module.

Not convinced it’s a straightforward task these days.

For example Wintex 8.2 build 1.5 and above requires cloud account details to access programming, although you can use it over ip in a different way.
