Hello,

I have a Texecom alarm system installed with the smart com, generally it’s all done by an installer but I recently changed my router and didn’t fancy paying someone to update wifi details and did it myself, however since then the cloud led is just flashing and will not connect. I left it overnight as saw it can take time but this seems extreme. Have tried the wifi and hard wired.

The smart com is running v6.05 unsure of software for the Texecom.

Just to confirm as well this is going from standard sky router to sky wifi max router

Could anyone provide any advice? Last time I got a new router I just renamed it the old one but I didn’t want to have to do this again

Thanks

Ideally when faced with a router change, just giving the new one the same SSID and password, will allow everything that did connect to reconnect as normal.
The latest firmware for a smartcom is 4.x, so I can only assume you mean control panel firmware which is 6.x the most recent.
What procedure did you use to attempt to reconfigure the smartcom?.

Hello, the v6 info came from the last service so not looking good. I initially just connected to the smartcom after opening the box to get the network details. Long press on the WiFi button before changing the details, that’s when the issue first appeared so tried a power cycle and, pressing 5 times within 3 seconds to reset(separately )but still the same

Did you then set the smartcom into AP mode, connect to it's wifi directly using it's IP address of 192.168.2.1, and its pass phrase, then give it details of the new network you want it to connect to?.

Yup, it’s showing connected on the router, just smartcom now won’t connect to cloud

This option doesn’t exist, it recognises me as master but there is no option for generate app code

generating an app code can be done from the app or from the panels keypad as an engineer or master user(not sure it can be turned off by the engineer).

I have just check the bench unit and definitely a master user function to generate an app code, in the user menu.

So where have you looked exactly?

It is relatively straight forward process, if your struggling even if your following the correct process then sounds like you need an engineer unfortunately to get to the bottom of the issue.

There are some things the User cant setup wrt smart com but to have changed anything you would of had to default the panel or used a valid engineers code etc to change these.

Logged into the panel entering the master code, scrolled through the menu but there is no generate app code, I believe before I have done it through the app before but the app isn’t connecting due to the cloud issue, I don’t mind calling an engineer for it, just wasn’t sure if there was a step I missed. Have I naively assumed updating the WiFi is simple or does it sound like there is a underlying issue?

Thanks so far everyone

Honestly thank you all for your help, I’m an idiot… I had not clicked into user menu on the pad, so sorry to have wasted all your time. Thank you working now.

Again sorry none of the guides mentioned this step, they just said update the wifi. and when I had been looking for the app code I was pressing the up arrow when hitting menu rather than entering user menu.
Again sorry and thank you all

no worries, no idea what it says in the manual .........

Usually they have a break down of steps and images of the screen, they also have a you tube channel with some videos of some processes on also.
