Hi. Trying to connect SmartCom to the router/internet but no succcess, see below. Any help would be appreciated

Panel – Prem Elite 24 – Firmware version 5.01

SmartCom - Firmware version 2.01

Router Netgear WNR384B usual setting is IP 192.168.1.0 to IP 192.168.1.255

Subnet Mask 255:255:255:0 (all cabled and Wifi devices in the house work on these settings)

DHCP on.

Using temporary ethernet cable, SmartCom connects having IP of 192.168.1.16 and will work with the phones Connect App.

Using Wifi there is connection to the phone but no connection to internet/router.

Phone displays ‘NO CONNECTION TO INTERNET’ and shows IP 192.168.2.100 and Subnet Mask 255:255:255:0 and Connect App does not work.

Change router settings giving IP 192.168.1.0 to IP 192.168.3.255

Subnet Mask to 255:255:252:0

Again -

Using Wifi there is connection to the phone but no connection to internet/router.

Phone displays ‘NO CONNECTION TO INTERNET’ and shows IP 192.168.2.100 and Subnet Mask 255:255:255:0

Wintex used to change Subnet Mask from 255:255:255:0 to 255:255:252:0 which is uploaded to panel.

No Change - again -

Using Wifi there is connection to the phone but no connection to internet/router.

Phone displays ‘NO CONNECTION TO INTERNET’ and shows IP 192.168.2.100 and Subnet Mask 255:255:255:0

Wintex used to download settings from panel to check Subnet Mask number. Number down loaded is still as origonal at 255:255:255:0

Where am I going wrong? Any other possible alternatives? Can SmartCom firmware/software be changed (through Wintex)? Could SmartCom be faulty?

Thanks

Is it a dual band router ? I’ve had to disable the 5g part before for the smartcom to connect to the WiFi

Did you follow the instructions on how to connect your smart com via WiFi ? It reads as you have just connected by Ethernet and expecting the unit to know the WiFi settings !

I don’t understand .....your on a 192.168.1.xxx.....your smartcom should be .....192.168.1.xxx.....where is it getting it’s 192.168.( 2/3 ) xxx from ?

The SmartCom seems to be pre set with 192.168.2.1
Initial set-up states that when logged on to the Smartcom you the then use web brouser to search for 192.168.2.1
The search reveals nothing or it is timed out

To use the wifi on the smart com you need to press and hold the yellow/orange button for a few seconds.

connect a computer or smart phone or tablet to the wifi ssid ARH-----, pass inside the smart com unit

Once connected in a wen browser use 192.168.2.1

then select your wifi from the lst and type in its password

then once that's in you can come out of the smart com ssid and connect to the internet connection as normal.

if the router can see texe_hub then the smart com is successfully conected
