Hotbed - ten to a house
accept zero hour contracts
dont worry about working conditions
Leave the kids in your country of origin.

Thats what the cheap foreign workers do.

I lived in a house with 11 other people when I first rented in London. Wasn't as bad as it sounds.

If people can't live without benefits whilst in a full time job then we do not have an acceptable cost of living, regardless of whatever the wage is, high or low.

Whilst work doesn't pay, you will never be able to encourage people off benefits.

Either you want business subsidised or you want people to earn a decent wage (relative to cost of living). The system needs resetting, not just tinkering with the vicious circle of higher wages and higher prices.
Well, governments don't agree with you. We had "supplementary benefit" decades ago. Other countries have variations, similar idea.

Work does pay - they work it out that way. But people do have the option to be lazy parasites...

Notwithstanding that, the part of Starmer's which was quoted, about using "cheap foreign labour" is refuted by the minimum wages around Europe.

If we employed E. Europeans at their home pay rates, yes that would be bad. But we don't. We pay them our higher rates. If it's for fruit picking, experience shows that Brits aren't interested in the work anyway. So what's the problem?

Most of the non-working excess Brits we have with the slightest disability, wouldn't be able to do many of the foreign-worker jobs, because they tend to be physical.

If people can't afford to live properly on a working weeks wage, then don't be surprised that people don't want to work

Why ever not? They'll be better off than slouching around on benefits. You're going off at a tangent again.

Haven't seen the breakdown but I'd guess a good proportion of the CBA-to-work people are at the older end. Huge factor there could being they
don't need the money to pay rents and mortgages.

Fairly obvious I thought.

Example 1
Spend a week working or stay at home for the same price?

Example 2
Spend a week working to see the company making big profits and having to claim support to pay the bills, let alone save anything.

Higher wages alone doesn't cure anything if it raises prices.

Making work pay, affording to live decently will move people away from benefits.

Obviously there will be some that won't or can't work. But they can be reduced to a minimum.

It's not "Fairly obvious", it's utter sh1t.

Example 1 FAILS they do not get the same money for staying at home. You keep repeating that error. Why are you pretending to be so dumb?
Example 2 is another FAIL. Same reason. You have more money to pay the bills. End of.
You think all companies make big profits? Idiotic.
You think people doing the lowest-end jobs are well off anywhere, like all those countries in Europe with much lower minimum wage, lower benefits, and the same price gas and food? Idiotic.

Try looking at our benefits compared with Europe.
Are you going to say the same thing again? And be wrong again?
Repeatedly saying the same wrong, off topic crap again and again? There's a word for that.......

The benefits system is the root of all evil in this country.

Let’s just put the minimum wage up to a grand a week then. Dont worry about working hard at school, leaning a trade or working your way up in life, just start out on the maximum. Yeah, that’ll do it, problem sorted.

Can we have that in English?
I thought you were. Obvious;y not. You come up with something stupid to say as you don't have a sensible answer.

Something for you to think about. A tale about younger dustbin workers, adults. ;) from an older one. For various reasons they get asked to do a days worth at overtime rates. They think great £100. When they get their pay packets they find it's not £100 due to tax deductions .Income tax and NI. They feel it wasn't worth it.

Feel free to state this doesn't relate.

Country is drowning in pencil pushers and paper shufflers probably administrating some quango government grant scheme caper

And middle men who do f all of consequence

That and s generation of snow flakes

Jeez us wept :ROFLMAO:

You don't even write in English sentences. You don't say what the heck you're on about. You don't make sense. Much of what you say is rambling gibberish which, it's pretty evident, several people have given up reading.

What the flying F has the brainless, unthinking grievance of a dustbin worker got to do with whether we take migrant workers in which is what the thread's about? I don't need to think about it aanyway, the man's an idiot. Everybody is liable for taxes - duhhh.

You appear to be typing because you have an urge to type something, not because you have anything to say.
