That was not a water pipe, but a gas pipe! (Cutting torch)

Just a old story from my granddad when he used to be a plummer in the 1950's.

One of his workers were cutting through a large gas pipe in a school what was believed to be a water pipe with a gas cutting torch, where it then created a large flame until the gas was turned off. Luckily no one was hurt.

Another story is where some one dropped a ping pong ball in a central heating header tank in a hospital as a prank what caused a whole wing to have no heating when the ball got stuck in a pipe. Apparently it took ages to find the problem.
