The Gas fitting industry

Sorry Jordan but its time to step into the real world, Gas Safe combined stop checks and customer requested inspections amount to less than 1% of total yearly installs. I'm not a chippy [ glorified or otherwise] but were I to be I'd likely as not have served an apprenticeship and have A and B
City and Guild qualifications. which is probably more than most RGIs can say. Its common knowledge that many installs are carried out by non RGIs like kitchen fitters, plumbers, builders etc who then slip a RGI a couple of hundred to sign it off. Finally and at the risk of being called pedantic, unless they are university graduates, someone who installs central heating is a heating fitter not an engineer.

You know this as a fact?

If only you had access to the CC, then you find that the majority of Gas Engineers would not sign off someone elses installation.

Do you need a University degree to be classed as an engineer? Another thread perhaps? but perhaps you live in the Joe 90 world of failed tradesmen?
