Hi All,

I have a back door leading out to the decking, I recently changed the door locking mechanism to be a thumb lock, so as to prevent the kids from easily going outside/opening the door.

During the process of changing it, I unscrewed more things than i really ought to unscrew. I changed it to thumb lock in the end, the consequence ever since is that when the handle is depressed down, the latch circled ought to stay in, but it does not, it then sticks out preventing the door from shutting correctly and hitting the uPVC plastic frame.

Is there anything that i can do to rectify it ? It was not like this before i changed the lock.

Thanks in advance.

Take out the thumblock barrell again and depress handle to see if the deadlock returns ... If so refit the thumblock. if it still doesn't work try the old barrel lock , if that doesn't work part of the internals are broken
